  • This course introduces the various navigational tools and services of the Internet. Topics include discussion of the social and ethical implications of the Internet and World Wide Web, web browsers, retrieving/decompressing files, and use Internet tools such as e-mail, search engines, FTP, chat (IM) clients, blogs, wikis, and various Google objects. Students should also be able to create a Web page using HTML/XHTML exclusively, without other software aids. As you progress through the course, you will also find other fun and exciting things!

  • This course introduces basic markup language, various navigational tools and services of the Internet. Topics include creating web pages, using Internet protocols, search engines, file compression/ decompression, FTP, E-mail, listservers, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to deploy a web-site created with basic markup language, retrieve/decompress files, e-mail, FTP, and utilize other Internet tools.

  • This course is the first of two courses covering the creation of web graphics, addressing problems peculiar to WWW display using appropriate software. Topics include web graphics file types, type conversion, RGB color, the browser-safe palette, elementary special effects, image maps, and other related topics.
